Japan Airlines has also informed its frequent fliers that their FLY ON status has been extended by an additional year for April 1, 2022 – March 31, 2023.
JAL hasn’t yet updated its website with this information but will get it done by mid-late January per the email.
You can access JAL here.
Here’s the announcement from JAL:
Thank you for your continued support of the JAL Group.
As a token of our appreciation for your patronage, we are pleased to invite you to enjoy the same FLY ON status for the 2022 service year as your membership status for the 2021 service year. This invitation is being extended to select members only and offers you access to our special services in the 2022 service year.
Eligible period: 2022 service year (from April 1, 2022 until March 31, 2023)
Notes and reminders
– No action is needed from you to enjoy the same FLY ON status.
– Members invited to JMB Diamond or JGC Premier status will not be eligible to receive Service Selection 2022. Thank you for your understanding.
More details will be posted on the JAL website from mid- to late-January.
To view this information, please log in to your account on the JAL website, select the JAL MILEAGE BANK tab, and click Available services/promotions.
We look forward to serving you on your future JAL Group flights.
Conclusion
It seems that JAL has some heavy processes for updating information on its website if it takes roughly a month, but at least they got an email out.
I was looking to credit Oneworld flights to JAL’s Mileage Bank but decided against it because earning status with this airline essentially requires at least half of the elite qualifying miles flown on their services.
