There is no penalty for canceling if you do it a minimum of seven days before. One night refundable deposit is required, however.
Conclusion
You have to note that this Winter-sale is valid through the early fall, including all the summer and not just the cold months. I like that the rate is flexible, and you can get the one-night deposit refunded (not necessarily ever charged) if you cancel one week before.

The Winter Savings promotion (the “Promotion”) is valid only for selected bookings made from 29 December 2021 to 12 January 2022 (both dates inclusive) (the “Booking Dates”) for stays at participating IHG® branded hotels in the UK and Europe between 02 January 2022 and 04 September 2022 (the “Stay Dates”) using the “Advance Saver” or “Advance Saver – IHG® Rewards Member Rate” during the Booking Dates.
The Promotion offers a discount of up to 25% off the hotel’s Best Flexible Rate, which is an unrestricted, non-qualified, non-discount rate. Rates are per room, per night based on single or double occupancy and are subject to availability during the Stay Dates. Promotion is available for room only and with breakfast.
Minimum 1 night stay required. Bookings must be made at least three (3) days in advance of arrival. Cancellation and no show policy apply – bookings can be cancelled seven (7) days before your check in date without any charge. No shows or cancellations made less than seven (7) days before your check in will result in you being charged for the first night of your stay.
