Hilton launched lifetime Diamond status in the mid-2010s and made the requirements public in 2015 (read more here).
Hilton told us in 2020 that they were working on bringing a lifetime counter on its website, making it easy for Honors members to track their progress towards this status, but alas, this has not happened yet. Instead, you need to contact Hilton Honors customer support to get the stats.
You can access Hilton’s page for lifetime status here.

Thank you for your inquiry regarding Lifetime diamond status. We appreciate you taking the time to contact us.
After going through your profile, I got to know that you need to complete below criteria to become our Lifetime diamond member:
Lifetime Diamond Progress
- Progress: 815 of 1,000 Nights
- or: 989,892 of 2,000,000 Base Points
- and: 15 of 10 Years In Diamond
As always, thanks for traveling with us and please let us know if you have any other questions. You can reach us any time at [email protected].
My Lifetime Progress:
- 2015 = 361 nights & 7 years of Diamond status
- 2019 = 534 nights, 699K base points, and 12 years of Diamond
- 2020 = 603 nights, 804K base points, and 13 years of Diamond
- 2021 = 700 nights, 880K base points, and 14 years of Diamond
- 2022 = 815 nights, 990K base points, and 15 years of Diamond
If the current trajectory continues, I should reach 1,000 nights sometime in 2023.
Why Lifetime Diamond Status Matters?
Hilton Honors Global Automated Upgrades Order
Hilton rolled out Global Automated Upgrades last year, and the Lifetime Diamond members are upgraded before Diamond and Gold members. This results in better upgrades.
Where’s Lifetime Counter?
Marriott Bonvoy displays the number of elite years at various levels and the total number of nights consumed on its website and app.
Hyatt includes the progress towards the lifetime base points requirement of a million ($200K) on its frequent emails.
Hilton communicated in early 2020 that they planned to bring this lifetime progress information online last year, but it never materialized.
Conclusion
I have started to inquire about my progress towards the lifetime status at the beginning of each year to have an audit trail in place if something unexpected happens and ensure that the number of nights has been recorded correctly.
Looking at my current progress, it is improbable that I would qualify based on the spend ($200,000), but rather on nights 1,000. I already have more than 10 years of Diamond membership.
My upgrades as a Diamond member have been generally good (outside of North America), and I would assume that they would be even better when I reach lifetime status, hopefully sometime in 2023.
