We love Halloween for so many reasons, but the greatest reason of all has to be pumpkins. You can dress them up in so many different ways, like these incredible Disney pumpkins (that require no knives) or carved jack-o’-lanterns that will give you the spookiest house on the block.

So if we’re going to shower our porches with pumpkins this year, we’ll need to find the best deals around. Here’s where to shop for the best pumpkin prices this season.

How Are Pumpkins Priced?

Like other types of produce, you can find pumpkins either priced per pound or at a flat rate. That means, regardless of how heavy your pumpkin is, you’ll pay the same price every time. While that may seem like the better deal at first, having pumpkins priced per pound can save you a lot of money in the long run.

Don’t miss our pumpkin carving tips straight from the pros!

The Best Pumpkin Prices We’ve Seen

Krazy Coupon Lady found the best prices on pumpkins for 2021. So far, the top three places for pumpkin deals are:

  • WinCo Foods at $0.18/lb
  • Safeway/Albertsons at $0.23/lb
  • Walmart at $0.24/lb

WinCo Foods, which can be found in Arizona, California, Idaho, Montana, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, Washington and Nevada, won for the best pumpkin prices this season at the ridiculously low price of only 18 cents per pound. Walmart, Safeway and Albertsons aren’t far behind, though.

Honorable mentions go to Costco ($0.30/lb), Trader Joe’s ($0.30/lb), Kroger ($0.31/lb) and Aldi ($0.33/lb). Considering these stores are a bit more readily available across the country, you can score some decent deals for larger carving pumpkins. Aldi in particular will have massive pumpkins this fall. But make sure to check out smaller pie pumpkins for those delicious fresh pumpkin recipes.

The stores with the highest pumpkin prices so far are Home Depot ($0.50/lb) and Lowe’s ($0.55/lb), so keep that in mind as you shop. Happy decorating!
