10 Mother’s Day Movies & Shows on Disney+
From hysterical comedies to heartfelt documentaries, here’s a wonderful list of movies and TV shows that remind us of the special ladies in our lives. All of these Mother’s Day options are available on Disney+.
1. The Incredibles (2004)
What’s better than a crime-fighting couple? A crime-fighting family! This animated adventure follows Mr. Incredible and Elastigirl as they get back into action with some help from their kids. Enjoy these super snacks while you watch.
2. Dumbo (1941 and 2019)
Disney + has you covered with the original Dumbo flick and the recent Tim Burton remake. Dumbo’s only true friend, aside from his mother, is Timothy the mouse. Both encourage him to use his big ears to FLY.
3. 101 Dalmatians (1961 and 1996)
Parents—Pongo and Perdita—set out to save their Dalmation puppy children from the villainous Cruella De Vil. In the process, they rescue many additional pups!
4. Bao (2018)
Short on time? This 7-minute animated short will touch your heart with the story of a Chinese mom, who, now that her grown son has left home, gets another chance at motherhood when one of her dumplings springs to life.
5. Elephant (2020)
This documentary, narrated by Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex, follows the journey of African elephant Shani and her spirited son Jomo as they travel hundreds of miles across the vast Kalahari Desert.
6. Jane Goodall: The Hope (2020)
Jane Goodall: The Hope features an extensive collection of photographs and footage that spans more than seven decades. Dr. Goodall’s passion for wildlife and unshakable drive have made her one of the most important figures in wildlife conservation and an inspiration to future generations.
7. Cheaper By the Dozen (2003)
Have you ever wondered what it would be like raising 12 children while your partner is away on business? This family comedy featuring Steve Martin, Bonnie Hunt and Hilary Duff, is a remake of the 1950’s classic. If you enjoy the first movie, the sequel is also available.
8. Mrs. Doubtfire (1993)
This comedy, starring the late Robin Williams, is a beloved favorite. Williams plays a divorced dad who creates an elaborate plan and alter-ego—Mrs. Doubtfire, an older British woman—to convince his ex-wife to hire him as a nanny so he can spend more time with his kids. Hilarity ensues.
9. Home Alone (1990)
While this Christmas classic focuses on the clever ways eight-year-old Kevin McCallister protects his house from a pair of burglars when he is accidentally left home alone by his family during Christmas vacation, it also shows the lengths a mom will go to get back to her son—including a road trip with a polka band. Marge Simpson is the Queen of the animated moms.
